JOB POSTING: SOCIAL MEDIA COMMUNITY MANAGER
The Bear River Board of Trade is looking to hire a Social Media Community Manager. This post involves creating and administering social media accounts aimed at promoting the village.
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible
End date: Early to mid-September (seasonal position)
Hours per week: 20
Wage: $14.00/hour
Additional information: This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Youth
Employment Program. Applicants must be between the ages of 15 and 30 and be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Job Description
- Create Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Tik Tok accounts for the Board of Trade
- Interview locals and explore Bear River (on foot) to gather information regarding: community
events, local businesses, outdoor recreation, scenic views, etc - Generate, edit, publish and share engaging content optimized and appropriate for each
platform - Implement a social media strategy and daily posting schedule
- Communicate with online followers, responding to queries in a professional and timely
manner - Verify post content with supervisors as requested; ask for support and clarifications as needed
- Suggest and implement ideas to develop village awareness, like promotions or competitions
- Carry out other social media/networking tasks as required
Required Skills - Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of social media metrics, platforms and trends
- Ability to develop creative text, image and video content
- Knowledge of Bear River area and/or a desire to explore and learn about this area
- Flexibility, diplomacy, professionalism and a willingness to follow instructions
- Comfortable initiating conversations, conducting interviews and engaging with online
audiences - Self-motivated; able to perform tasks independently with little supervision
Other requirements
- Must have own laptop and cell phone
- Completion of AT LEAST a high school diploma is strongly desired
