Doctor Ajantha Jayabarathan, otherwise known as Dr AJ, works in the Halifax area as a family physician and as a faculty member at the Dalhousie Medical School. Dr AJ has
worked as an ER doctor at the Halifax Infirmary. She practices community and life span based, cradle to grave, family medicine. This includes obstetrics, nursing home care, and house call enhanced comprehensive services to her patients. Dr AJ has a media presence on the CTV where she developed a program called House Calls with Dr AJ on Live at Five. She does regular medical columns for the CBC.
Educated in Ontario before coming to Dalhousie, Dr. AJ is passionate about her home and work in Nova Scotia. In her own words, “I continue to explore many of Nova Scotia’s treasured sites with my family. We have grown to love Five Islands, Parrsboro, Advocate Harbour, and Joggins and the summer and fall often find us there. Since the first day I arrived in the Maritimes, I have felt nurtured, accepted, supported and nourished by the spirituality and beauty of this land and the kindness of its people. It is unlikely I will bid Nova Scotia farewell in this lifetime.”

Dr AJ is a strong advocate of transparency and helping communities see the health care system, its strengths and shortcomings, as a location or place wherein citizens can learn to manage their personal health in a better way.

Please join us on Friday May 25 @ 7pm, Digby High School.
