Horrified that Houston lifted the uranium ban? The fracking ban? Failed to protect our coastlines? Criminalised protest on public lands? Is clearcutting proposed protected areas? Entertains secret plans to turn provincial park land into a golf course (again)? Only lets the legislature sit for 8 days? All this after getting elected on false pretences.
And that’s before we talk about the disrespect he has shown the Mi’kmaq.
At the invitation of Mi’kmaw land defenders and water protectors, let’s stand up together, shoulder to shoulder, Mi’kmaw and settlers, and say a mighty Nova Scotia No to Houston’s extraction agenda. Stop trashing our province. Stop trashing democracy. Start protecting our lands, our waters, our future.

Nina Newington and her colleagues at Save Our Old Forests (SOOF) have been strong supporters of Protected Areas, New Proposed Additions, Nature Reserves and New Wilderness Areas, as well as species at risk, and proper responsible forestry occurring where appropriate in N.S..
Hopefully you and your friends and/or contacts may be able to attend the Rally being held at the Halifax Commons on Saturday November 15 at 12 PM (NOON)
Please also circulate this Rally information to your contacts for their information, and to support the Rally info being further distributed.

SOOF stands for Save Our Old Forests, and is a Nova Scotia-based nonporfit advocating for old-growith forest protection to meet the provincial and federal targets of protecting 20% of the land by 2030. The organization engages the public through events, public pressure, and petitions to encourage government accountability and to protect specific areas like Goldsmith Lake from resource extraction, including logging. SOOF works to hold the provincial government accountable for meeting its legislated goal for land and water protection.
