Come out tomorrow for the opening of Colour Play featuring work by Fibre Artist Marilyn Preus on Saturday April 20th. The reception takes place from 2 – 4 pm in Bear River, at Sissiboo Coffee Bar and Gallery.
Marilyn combines her love of silk with her intense colour sense to bring us these stitched, playful works of art that seem to dance.
Marilyn uses recycled silk from her large collection of silk pieces, gathered over years from places like Frenchy’s, from friends and other sources. Look closely and you will recognize pieces of ties and scarves. Some of the silk is dyed or over-dyed to achieve the perfect colour.
