My process starts with an engaging idea about internal or external nature, which I explore through a series of acrylic paintings. Stirred by readings on the science of meditation, the mindfulness movement and secular Buddhism, the series Love and Knowledge considers how compassion results from a deep understanding of the transient nature of reality. This work is an exploration in the attitudes of loving kindness, compassion, empathetic joy and equanimity.
