Isao Sanami/Morrill was born, raised and educated in Japan. She came to Canada in the early 70s and has lived in several locations in BC, NB and NS. She is a potter, a painter, an organic gardener and a photographer.

Isao paints en plein air “to be in it and a part of it: the surroundings, the weather and all as a whole, including myself. Landscape is not a far away sight…nor is it a flat view in front. I paint what I see and what I feel.”
