Tidal Energy Information Session presented by Marine Renewables Canada
1 PM – 4 PM at Digby Pines, Digby Hall
Learn more about the global marine renewable energy market and what opportunities may be created through tidal energy development in our communities. Engage with leading international tidal energy developers and hear about the provinces strategy for tidal energy development.

Digby Port Days Opening Reception
5:30 PM – 7:30 PM at Digby Pines Grand Lounge
Digby Port Days will open with a few words from Michel Samson, the Minister of Energy; followed by a networking reception for speakers, organizers, and special guests. Refreshments and hors d’oeuvres will be served. (By Invitation Only )

Digby Port Days Renewable Energy Symposium
8:30 AM – 11:30 AM at Digby Pines, Digby Hall
A continental breakfast will precede the symposium at 7:30 AM. The Renewable Energy Symposium includes a roster of presenters featuring regional and international industry leaders, and Michel Samson, Minister of Energy who will open the speeches.

The 8th annual Tartan Classic Golf Tournament presented by Digby Area Board of Trade at the renowned Digby Pines Golf Course. The four person “Texas Scramble” format is a friendly fast paced game. Register as an individual or a team; included in your registration will be a barbeque and awards gala.
*Option #2 Renewable Energy Project Tour
1:30 PM – 7:30 PM
This year we are also offering a Renewable Energy tour: leaving from the Digby Pines Golf Resort and Spa, the tour will visit Renewable Energy Projects in the community.
Projects include:
- The Digby Windfarm owned and operated by Nova Scotia Power,
- South West Eco Energy’s Weaver Settlement Anaerobic Digester
- University Sainte Anne combined technologies Project, highlighting the solar thermal system for domestic hot water, a gasification biomass furnace, and 2 50-kW wind turbines.
The tour will finish with a Reception at University Sainte Anne where refreshments and hors d’oeuvres will be served.

Trade Show – Renewable Energy Forum
9:30 AM – 1:00 PM at NSCC Digby Campus, Main Lobby
Come visit the Static displays at the NSCC Digby Campus lobby to learn more about energy conservation, renewable energy initiatives and Tidal Energy in your community.
Panel Discussions
9:30 AM – 11:30 AM at NSCC Digby Campus, Business Lab
Discussions of the activities, opportunities and Impact of Tidal Energy in Digby-Clare will be presented by representatives from NSCC, Fundy Tidal Inc, Marine Renewables Canada, Acadia University, Aecon and Fundy Ocean Research Center for Energy.
The second panel will consist of Allen Joseph and representatives from University Sainte Anne, Efficiency One, Community Energy Trust, Cellufuel, Sage energy and South West Eco Energy, along with NSCC to talk about the Energy Sustainability Engineering Technology program and Marine Geomatics. They will discuss the activities, opportunities and impact surrounding other renewable energy initiative and conservation in our community.

Networking and final discussions can be established at this time; winners from the #RidetheGreenWave photo/video contest will be displayed and door prizes will be drawn.
