Throughout February, the Kings Theatre in Annapolis Royal will feature four Oscar-nominated films: Imitation Game, Citizenfour, The Theory of Everything, and Wild. Cost per film: $8 general admission.
The King’s Film Society Series opens February 24 with Mike Leigh’s Mr. Turner starring Timothy Spall (best actor, Cannes Film Festival 2014).
Enjoy this range of internationally-acclaimed feature films from Russia, Germany, Sweden, France and Argentina along with two powerful documentaries,Trick or Treaty, Alanis Obomsawin’s provocative film about the impact of the 1905 Treaty 9 on Canada’s First Nations peoples, and Gabe Polsky’s Red Army, about the USSR’s famed ice hockey team.
Two of the films, Leviathan and Wild Tales are nominated for Best Foreign Language Film (Academy Awards).
