The Bear River Sunday Summer Market and Music in Bear River had a successful run for 3 glorious summers. Unfortunately this year, its 4th, the decision was made to close the market due to diminishing numbers of visitors and vendors. Sunday July 21st was the final market.
Many thanks to Ken Flett who managed the market and was so kind and helpful to vendors. Thanks to Jonathan Welch who liaised with the Bear River Board of Trade to get the market off the ground and who equipped the market with musician-friendly extras and the rest of us with Sissiboo Coffee. We thank all participating visitors and vendors and musicians for enriching our waterfront experience and we bid you adieu for now.
The market was held on our beautiful downtown waterfront, behind the Legion.
We enjoyed beautiful scenery. The tide came and went; the birds swooped and soared. Live music was performed by local musicians.
Vendors included local award winners like Sledding Hill food products; Sissiboo Fair Trade Coffee, and delicious home-baked goodies from Karen as well as bedding plants, pottery, paintings, jewellery, seasonal garden produce and more.
There is an opportunity to rent tables at the Green Lantern building beside the post office. An ongoing yard sale will be held there throughout the summer. Table space is $5. Contact Kelly for details. 467-0466
