Free skating behind Bear River Legion Branch #22

Free sledding and a “Luge”

Contests for best winter dishes, ice sculptures, and snowmen! Prizes awarded!

Build a snowman or snowsculpture in your yard and win great prizes.

Call All-Ways Gardening, Sue Comeau @ 467-3258 or allwaysgardening@ns.sympatico.ca to enter. A photographer will come and take a picture right away. With your permission, you will be put on our snowsculpture map so the public can come and take a look. The maps will be available at the Bear River Legion, Oakdene, or Cherry Brook Grocery.

Tuesday Feb. 8th: (New this Year)

12pm & 7:30pm SNOW & ICE SCULPTING WORKSHOPS Free, behind the Bear River Royal Canadian Legion, come learn a few techniques on how to and how not to build!! Enter your creation in the contests!! 5:30pm-7:30pm CLUB 400 WINTER ACTIVE TEAM The team will be on hand with equipment for snowshoeing, kicksledding, & Nordic Walking. Behind the Bear River Legion, by the rink. Contact: Andre Bouchard at: 532-0286 or andre@club400.ca

6pm THE LIGHTING OF THE ICE CANDLES Starts behind the Bear River Legion. Ends behind the Bear River Legion with a candlelight skate. Drop off your ice candles behind the Legion. Contact: Duffer Wilson 467-0233 info@plasticweld.ns.ca

3pm-4pm WINTER CARNIVAL PRINCE & PRINCESS COMPETITION Children compete with winter activities at the Bear River Waterfront park. There will be a fashion show, a talent portion, and an outdoor activity section. The competitors will have to do a short write up on themselves and what they are wearing, which will be read during the fashion show (this should be 1 to 3 minutes in length.) There will be two age groups, 5-9 years old, and 10-13 years old. Contact: Heather Charlton 467-3269
