Free sledding and New this year a “Luge” on Lansdowne Road
Contests for best winter dishes, chili cook off, ice sculptures, and snowmen! Prizes awarded!
Build a snowman or snowsculpture in your yard and win great prizes. Call Bear River Legion 467-3705 or
Cindy Bowers 467-3154 to enter. A photographer will come and take a picture right away.
With your permission, you will be put on our snowsculpture map so the public can come and take a look. The maps will be
available at the Bear River Legion or Cherry Brook Grocery.
Thursday Feb. 11Th:
5:30pm-7:30pm Club 400 Winter Active Team will be on hand with equipment for snowshoeing, kicksledding,

6pm The Lighting of the ice candles! Starts behind the Bear River Legion. Ends behind the Bear River Legion with
a candlelight skate. Drop off your ice candles behind the Legion. Prizes awarded, 1st,2nd & 3rd. All welcome.

Friday Feb. 12Th:
Build your own snowman behind the Bear River Legion and enter the contests!
5:30pm -6:pm Best Winter Food Contest Four catagories: 1.Drink or Appetizer 2. Bread 3. Casserole/Stew 4. Dessert. First second & third prizes for each catagory. Entries dropped off @ Bear River Legion Br #22 , from 5:00- 6:00 judging at 6pm. A dozen roses is just one of the many prizes. Contact Ladies Auxillary or Verona 467-0166
7:30pm to 10:30pm Coffee house at Rebekah Music Hall featuring “Harvey Marcotte” and “Caleb Miles!”

Saturday Feb.13th:
8am to 4:30pm Build your own snowman behind the Bear River Legion and enter the contests!
9am – 3pm Ice Sculpting contest. Blocks small and large of ice supplied or bring your own. In the parking lot behind the B.R. Legion. Judging at 4pm. Prizes awarded Contact: Rick 247-3385
10am to 12pm Free Cross Country Ski Clinic at Bear River Windmill. Ski’s, poles, and Boots provided. Come try it out. Just show up or contact Sue Comeau 467-3258
10am – 3:00pm Chicken Sh*t Bingo. Two squares for a dollar. In the parking lot behind the B.R. Legion. Contact Jon or Erin 467-0357
1pm to 3pm Pie sale at New Horizons.
1pm to 3pm Free Horse Sleigh Rides!!!!!
1pm – 5pm. Cross Country Ski Trip. Ski from Victory to Bear River. Meet at Bear River Firehall 1pm. Trip 5.3 miles or 8.53 kilomerers. A truck waits at halfway point for tired skiers. Contact Sue Comeau 467-3258
5pm to 6pm Valentine’s Day Turkey Dinner at Bear River Firehall sponsored by Hillsburgh United Church $10.00 per person. Children under 12 for free. Contact Shirley 467-3655

Hot Chocolate and Coffee outside behind the Bear River Legion before and after fireworks. Rain date Sunday pm.

9pm-1am Valentines Day Dance at the Bear River Legion Branch #22. Admission $5.00 Music by “Dog House”
Sunday Feb 14th:
8am – 5pm Cross Country ski over 7 lakes (weather and ice conditions permitting) Trip is 10.75 miles or 17.3 kilometers. Bring your own lunch, snacks & don’t forget your water! Hot coffee and tea provided at lunch time. Meet at the Bear River Firehall @8am. Contact Sue Comeau 467-3258
9am-4:30pm ATV and snowmobile follow me run. Meet at the powerhouse in Bear River. Contact Cindy Bower’s 467-3154 or Bear River Legion 467-3705
1pm to 4pm Chili Cook Off contest upstairs at the B.R. Legion Branch #22 all entries welcome.$6.00 admission at the door. Admission includes two food tickets which will purchase chili or chips & salsa, or chips with refried beans.
