A word from the band:
“We have such fond memories of playing at the old Tall Sips On Stilts back in 2019, the night of a gorgeous snowstorm. We barely made it up the hill in the morning!
This time it’ll be even more special, as Bear River has become a bit more homey for us: Liv’s sister & brother-in-love moved here last summer. And, as a special treat, we’ll be sharing the stage with Anita Cazzola and Sam Boer!”
BAND BIO:
Tragedy Ann is a forward-looking folk duo.
Braiding organic vocal harmonies with organ, accordion, singing saw, and guitars, Tragedy Ann’s arrangements are as delicate as they are driving. Their concerts emanate “…the honesty and enthusiasm of people who can’t help but create and perform.” (Jon Farmer, Georgian Bay Roots).

With their latest album “Heirlooms” (May 2022), Liv Cazzola and Braden Phelan urge us to connect more deeply with each other. They also call for a deeper connection with the natural world. The answer to this call is reflected both in the collaborative creation process and the meaningful ways in which “Heirlooms” is being shared. Setting these intentions rooted them and provided the insight needed to nourish the project and create something lasting.
Tragedy Ann has performed in Europe, the United States, and across Canada at such venues as the National Arts Centre, Celtic Connections, Haliburton Folk Society, Egersund Visefestival, Blue Skies Music Festival, Clonakilty International Guitar Festival, Summerfolk Music and Crafts Festival, and Hillside Festival.
Thanks so much to Aly Coy and Joel for offering their studio space at the Oakdene Centre for this event!
