Fibre Arts Show, Blues Exhibit and Wintertide coming to ARTworks Gallery this November

Bear River Artworks Gallery is thrilled to invite you to two exceptional weekend-only exhibitions in November.

First up is Marilyn Preus, an extraordinary maker of silk quilts, hangings and clothing that are embellished with stitching, bead work, and hand-dyed silk. This show will include many pieces that have never been shown publicly and most will be for sale. This is a rare opportunity to see meticulous, fine pieces crafted by an exceptional artist.

Marilyn’s work will fill the entire 3 rooms of the gallery. The opening reception is Friday, Nov 8th from 2pm to 4pm.
On Saturday Nov 9th and Sunday Nov 10th, the hours are 1 – 3:30 pm.
(If you are unable to attend during those hours, email Flora Doehler and I will try to arrange another time for you.)

Our second special November show brings us portrait photography from Bear River Artworks Gallery’s resident photographer, Gary Fraser.
For well over a year, Gary has invited Blues musicians from across Nova Scotia to be part of this show. Many arrived with instrument in hand and played for Gary during their portrait session.

Gary’s black and white photos capture the passion of the musician, the music and the photographer.
And if we are doubly lucky, there may be some live music involved.

The opening reception is Friday, Nov 15th from 6 – 8 pm. The show continues Saturday Nov 16 and Sunday, Nov 17 from 1 – 3:30 pm.

We end the season with a special, one day Show featuring work from our gallery artists Gary Fraser, Crystal Pyne, Flora Doehler, Larry Knox and Laurel Strachan.

Once again we are part of the Annual village-wide Wintertide festival and welcome you to share some treats and refreshments with us as we toast the end of 10 seasons of Artworks Gallery. Open 11am – 3pm, November 23, 2024
