Sissiboo Coffee Roaster, in Bear River, NS.,  is hosting a show of recent works by J. Kim Cartwright, from Oct.15-Nov.30, 2024.
‘Meet and greet’ is scheduled for Sun. Oct.27, 1-3pm. 

Kim’s show will then move to Sissiboo Coffee Roasters in Annapolis Royal, NS., from Dec.1-31.

Title of show: “Not Georgia”

Bio:

Kim Cartwright happily lives in Bear River, NS., and has lived there for forty years plus, (save for an eleven year return to BC, her original home, 2010-2021). Yes, Post Secondary education did occur, early on.

Kim has been an ‘art maker’ all of her life, and has several chosen mediums. This exhibition is done in a medium new to her, Pan Pastels, which are chalk pastels in a pan or cake form, applied with sponges; coloured pencil was also used. The pen and inks are a medium that the artist has long familiarity with.

Statement:

I ‘make things’,  in appreciation of the incredible beauty and peace that I glean from Nature. In this strife ridden world in which we are currently living, I hope to pass on appreciation and reflection of our wonderous home….
