This year there are two sites in the Bear River area that No Spray Bear River is working hard to protect in Victory. What can you do to help? Lots! We’re looking for people to be on site for short periods of time and we’re accepting donations to help make our presence known to the aerial sprayers.
Helicopter Spraying of the herbicide Glysophate (Round up) is scheduled at Victoria Beach, Bear River, Hampton Village, anytime after Sept 18. Your physical presence could stop them!

This is our backyard, where we hike, swim, camp, fish, and explore nature at the edge of the Tobeatic wilderness. We can’t let the biodiversity of these areas be put at risk by glyphosate spraying. Victory is OURS!
The 2 sites located in Bear River are:
– Thomas Road, just above the Thomas Brook from Mill Lake stillwaters, which flows directly into Sam Harris Lake and then into the Bear River.
– The other site is beside Shell Camp Lake off Virginia Road which includes 3 PIDs.

We advise all people on site to be in communications via the No Spray Bear River Signal Chat app on your cell phone or through a site coordinator by email, to coordinate timeframes and when additional support is needed. Numerous people could be on site at various times, depending on daily spray risk assessments. The more the merrier!
Donations are also being accepted in the form of tarps, tents, paints/brushes, rope and bottled water. These items will be used to build encampments on the sites to ensure we can be visible from an aerial view and to keep the teams hydrated!

No Spray Bear River looks forward to hearing from you! Thank you for your continued support!
Please contact No Spray Bear River coordinator for more details on how to join us or donate. 4nospraybearriver@gmail.com
