Learning to Love Printmaking Workshops
We are very excited to announce our Learn to Love Printmaking Workshop series coming to the studio in March and April! Even if you are a complete novice or have some experience with printmaking wanting to shake off the winter brain rust, these workshops are for you. Registration is open now and the number of participants are limited to 6 people per workshop, so if you are interested. do not hesitate.
March 16 & 17 – Learn to Love Linocut with Basma Kavanagh
Learn the basics of this versatile and accessible printmaking medium. In this two-day workshop, we’ll look at several ways to create simple designs, transfer those designs to lino, learn to carve safely and efficiently, proof and refine our carvings, and finally, pull some prints!This workshop is suitable for beginners and those with some printmaking experience. April 7, 1-4pm – Learn to Love the Basics of Letterpress With Katie Prescott of Woodshed Press. April 28, 11am to 4pm – Learn to Love Simple Etching on recycled containers. With Bonnie Baker. Explore easy, economical ways of making etchings using recycled tetra pak drink containers. In a one day session you will learn how to develop your idea as an image onto the surface of a recycled packaging, use drypoint and collagraph methods to create lines and texture, then print multiple prints.This workshop is suitable for the novice or people with printmaking experience.
