Irish Bodhrán workshops in Bear River: No experience necessary. All levels are welcome!

Award-winning bodhrán player Jacob McCauley is back in Bear River on Sunday , July 9^th to host two bodhran workshops. There will be a two hour beginner workshop and then a two hour intermediate/advanced workshop. Please see the poster for times, location and cost. No experience is necessary for the beginner workshop, however you must bring your own drum (tippers will be for sale). Folks are also welcome to do both workshops as a package.

The beginner workshop  will start from the ground up with the basics on technique, essential rhythms, common tune types, musical analysis as well as the history of the drum. There will be emphasis on learning and practicing the basic strokes, rhythms and learning the most most common tunes played in sessions with one-on-one guidance.

The Intermediate/Advanced workshop will challenge the more advanced players with less common tune types, odd-time signatures, advanced sticking techniques, ornamentation, back-hand use as well as tasteful tune accompaniment. Students will be given the opportunity to play together as a group and receive one-on-one instruction while practicing new tunes and tricks.
