The Bear River & Area Community Health Clinic, is spreading the word of the Virtual Care Hub we have established in collaboration with Virtual Care NS for the residents in the Bear River community and surrounding areas.

Residents without a health care provider can contact 811 by phone or online to sign up for Need a Family Practice Registry. It may take up to 10 business days from when you register to when your access to Virtual Care NS is activated.

Virtual Care NS provides Nova Scotians on the Need a Family Practice Registry with free online visits with a primary care provider (doctor or nurse practitioner) until they are placed with a permanent family practice.

Our fully trained staff can help clients:

• register for  811 on the Need a Family Practice Registry
• sign up for Virtual Care on the Maple Platform under Nova Scotia Health Authority
• provide a private space at the Bear River & Area Community Health Clinic with a computer to conduct your appointment with the health care provider (if requested)

With the shortage of Physicians and Nurse Practitioners this is one alternative we can offer and want to share this information with our communities.
